Business Factory

The customer

In the digital era, Banks, Insurance companies, and Enterprises rely on hundreds of applications to connect with their clients. These applications require ongoing management, maintenance and development to meet specific needs. Seven years ago, the IT department of one of Italy’s largest insurance groups strategically decided to outsource its entire Application Maintenance service. In the following videos, we explore why and how the value of Deda Bit continues to be recognized by one of our key clients.

The Context

The Birth and Growth of the Business Factory

Our Business Factory was established seven years ago with a core team of around 30 professionals. Thanks to our expertise, professionalism and efficiency, we have experienced continuous growth.  Today, our team counts over 80 professionals working across multiple locations - at the Client's site, in our offices and remotely.

Within the Client's IT organization, Functional System Integrators act as a bridge between business users and development teams, facilitating communication and alignment. Key features of a Functional System Integrator include a strong commitment to continuous learning, teamwork orientation, critical thinking, and excellent problem-solving skills.

In terms of application maintenance of IT solutions, we handle both routine tasks and corrective actions, managing an average of over 400 tickets per month.

The Results

A new Agile Approach

In our factories, we have developed multiple specialized roles, such as System Integration & Testing Engineering, Business Analyst, Business Consultant, Project Manager, PMO, and SCRUM Master.

The SCRUM Master role emerged within the Agile methodology. In 2021, the Client launched a new project to transition from the Waterfall methodology to the Agile approach by using the DevOps methodology, a combination of development (Dev) and operations (Ops).
All our specialists are fully involved in the Agile project, organized into cross-functional teams composed of multidisciplinary experts, business users, and developers. The transition is slated for completion in the first half of 2025.
