Application Maintenance: the value of our Business Factory
In the era of digitalization, there are hundreds of applications through which Banks, Insurance companies, and Enterprises connect with their clients. These applications need to be managed, maintained, and often developed to meet specific needs. Outsourcing the entire Application Maintenance service was the choice made 7 years ago by the IT center of one of the largest Italian insurance groups, and in the following videos, we explain why and how the value of Deda Bit continues to be appreciated by one of our main clients.
Il Context
Our Business Factory was born 7 years ago with a core group of about 30 resources and has experienced continuous growth over the years. We have demonstrated professionalism, expertise, and efficiency, and today we have a team of over 80 professionals, working partly at the Client's site, partly at our offices, and partly remotely.
The Client's IT organization includes a layer of Functional System Integrators between business users and development teams, with the goal of facilitating communication between the two entities. The main characteristics of a Functional System Integrator include, for example, a strong inclination towards continuous learning, teamwork orientation, analytical skills, and excellent problem-solving abilities.
Solutions
Our work team combines IT expertise with solid insurance knowledge. It is responsible for managing the Insurance Portfolio systems and the Centralized Registry, overseeing all the main processes of the insurance companies within the Group, both for the Base support component and for the systems Evolution activities.
Over time, the Client has also involved us in important project activities, such as the replacement of legacy application components, resulting in multiple benefits, including cost reduction and greater decision-making efficiency.
Regarding the application maintenance activities of the IT solutions, we manage both routine tasks and corrective activities, with an average of over 400 tickets per month.
The results
In our factories, we have developed multiple roles, such as System Integration & Testing Engineering, Business Analyst, Business Consultant, Project Manager, PMO, and SCRUM Master.
The SCRUM Master role originates within the Agile methodology: in 2021, the Client started a new project to transition from the Waterfall methodology to the Agile approach, using the DevOps methodology, which is a combination of development (Dev) and operations (Ops).
All our resources are fully involved in the Agile project, and these groups are represented by a team of functional experts, business users, and the development team. The transformation is expected to be completed in the first half of 2025.
